. . . We are painters, plumbers, pilots, and poets. We wear lab coats, suit coats, and Carhartts. We might not know what film won the Academy Award for Best Picture last year, and we don't much care if Barbara Streisand, Tina Fey, and Matt Damon flee the country or the planet. We're plain spoken, but we're not stupid. We cling to the Constitution and the American Values it fostered. The strength of our minds and backs helped build this great nation. Belittle us if you like, but underestimate us at your own peril.
